it's actually a sturdy little thing
Let me start with the positives: -It's $59.00 -The color is exactly what I was looking for (Cherry). And not the unnatural looking bright red cherry. -When you finally finish putting it together, it's actually a sturdy little thing. The negatives: -It's a pain to put together Advice: Do not drink alcohol while putting this bed together. Do not put together with small children around, unless you don't mind them hearing you scream obscenities. Do not put this together with your spouse unless you work really well together. Make sure no one from China is within ear shot, because you're going to say some mean sh*t about them for about 45 minutes. And finally, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. I personally didn't have that bad of a time putting it together, but I can see where things could cause problems with most people. (Pictured) The holes do not line up when you put the two piece railings together. I didn't want to drill new, or bigger holes, so I wanted to see if I could work with the offset holes, and I was able to with mine. Before screwing the bracket to the two rail pieces like the instructions call for, I pieced together the railings, metal bracket, and center support block with the Allen screws through the holes to check for fit. It all went together for me, even with the offset holes. sure one of the screws was a tight fit, but it worked. Once I had all that pieced together, you can get to the two bracket holes on the bottom and mark it. (Pictured) PAY ATTENTION to the rails. There is one screw hole on the edge of the railing for both sides. This is for the side rails to screw into. They need to both be oriented towards the head board. The slats are a pain in the butt. Get one side of the railing complete and tightened up to the center slat. When you do the other side, do not tighten the two Allen screws all the way down to the slat. This will leave you some wiggle room to get the slats in, then tighten everything up. I could have given it 5 stars, but I'm writing this as the sweat is still dripping down my face lol. It isn't the worse piece of furniture I've ever put together, but there could be some improvements to the design for assembly purposes. It's $59.00, it's a bed, and it's pretty sturdy. You won't be disappointed if you get it.
