After working from home for more than a year, at a non-desk in my front room, I needed relief. I couldn't stand the uncomfortable feeling after just a couple of hours - constant squirming - and I looked at foot rests. It's been almost 2 weeks now and it's just what I needed. It works with & without shoes - but I wouldn't wear heals and use this. The heels could damage the fabric.
