My husband and I love this platform bed. We have a high quality memory foam king mattress that we have been using with the box springs that we purchased with it. And wow what an improvement this platform bed is. I had many reservations about switching to a platform bed because we've always used box springs, but I'm so glad we went for it. It offers much more even support for the mattress than our split box springs and we don't feel any valleys (though they were slight) in our bed anymore. It's makes our mattress seem more uniform and more supported. It's almost like a new mattress again. I can really feel the difference. It's super quiet so if one of us jumps up to check on the baby (me) we don't wake each other with creeks. I was worried about the height being shorter than the box springs but it's actually not low at all. It's the perfect height to just turn and step out of bed. No squatting required as I though maybe would happen. There's also adequate room to store boxes underneath. I also was worried I'd hit my shin on the sides or the legs but it fits the mattress perfect and I never even notice it. (In some beds I've seen the platform bed extends past the mattress and it is a problem). Not an issue for this bed. The slats across are a nice wood and my husband likes that there is a sticky tape you peel off so when you place the mattress on top it stays put. It was very simple to put together and is made very well. Some reviews note that the legs were missing but there's actually a sticker on one of the sides where the legs are hidden inside. So perhaps the customer didn't notice the sticker? Or the sticker was missing and the customers didn't know to look there? Or the legs were not placed into the compartment by the manufacture? Not sure but we found them just fine. The outer material of the platform bed is a nice material and is padded, and I really appreciate this making it safe for toddlers or adult shins (though I don't think I'd actually hit it it's so perfect ). It's looks really expensive and well made and we are thrilled we made the switch. I wish we had done so sooner to fully appreciate our mattress. Highly recommend. Update 3/17/17. We continue to love our platform bed and continue to recommend it thoroughly. update 3/30/18. Still love this bed. Still perfect and sturdy despite our dragging it to rearrange our room a few times. We continue to have great nights sleep on it!
