This pillow has definitely met my expectations for providing me with good neck support at night. I have arthritis and a degenerative disc in my neck (disc is also bulging out) and I have been searching for a pillow to help me stay on my back or side at night. I have probably tried about five pillows prior to this one, with little to no luck on getting any relief from my pain or helping me stay in good alignment. I love the rounded edges on this pillow. After using this, I have to ask...why do we make square pillows??? The curves allow for great arm placement and leave space for your shoulders to relax while still supporting the neck and head. I love how there is a little ramp tapering out, it fits my neck perfectly and supports it without a big drop off to the bed, making it super comfortable. On my back the very slight indentation holds my head easily allowing my cervical spine area to relax and stay straight. If I turn on my side the thickness of the pillow keeps my shoulder from getting squished and keeps my neck in a good position. Lots of times with memory foam pillows they are way too hard and my ear gets sore*, but so far on this pillow I have not had this happen. Also, it took no time to get used to like some of the other pillows I tried, easy to sleep on the very first night. No weird smell either!!! *UPDATE: So I have had this pillow for quite awhile. I still love it and it has not lost any bounce. However - I did start having ear pain again. This is nothing new for me, I wake up on any type of pillow (hard, soft, feather, foam etc...) with ear pain. My solution was to actually cut the foam out from the center of the pillow with an exact-o knife. So now there is a deep-ish hollow in the middle of my pillow where my ear rests when I am on my side. It does not impact the firmness of the pillow or the support if you lie on your back. My neck feels great, and now my ear is better too!
