We’ve been looking for a nice sectional for our family of five -three rambunctious young kids (plus a cat!). We checked many local furniture stores and the prices for a decent sectional runs anywhere between $1,200 to $1,500 +. That is not something we were willing to pay. After a great amount of research I came across Bobkona Austin 3 Piece reversible sectional with ottoman! WITH ottoman! Yes, I repeated that! Most places charge you an extra $200 - $500 to add an ottoman to your sectional!! So definitely a bargain here for the price. So let me break down our experience: - Super easy order. We have Prime and thought we’d get it in two days. Uhmm, no. And it makes sense! It’s coming via freight so you have to be patient, but it’s well worth the wait! We have ABF deliver and they were really good at communicating time and delivery and had a great tracking system on their website so we saw our three large boxes were on their way. No problems, no complaints! - Now they were tightly packed into three boxes. You MUST be super careful unpacking it so as not to rip the fabric or accidentally break the frame. My husband took great care with unpacking it and we’ve had no problems at all. - It did take about an hour to assemble. It does help having an extra person to help but it doesn’t require two people to assemble. In fact, it isn’t that heavy once it’s unpacked. Fairly light and easy to lift and maneuver on your own. Instructions were provided so that was a bonus! - The charcoal color depicted on the website is spot on! It’s really quite a beautiful color in person and I especially love the waffle weave of the microfiber! - Cushions are firm. If you’ve read any of the reviews here you will see it say that it’s firm time and again. Personally, it’s what we wanted! With three rambunctious kids, I wanted it to last! The firmer, the better! But honestly, it doesn’t feel stiff and uncomfortable at all. We love it! - There is Velcro on the middle cushion on the sofa piece and also Velcro on the chaise piece all around as to ensure it doesn’t fall off. The way it is arranged, it isn’t necessary to have Velcro on every single cushion. It stays in place just fine! The seat cushions are NOT attached. This is a bonus so if I need to flip it over, I can do so! - There is also a zipper around the seat cushions, which is nice. You can unzip to wash (although I haven’t done this!!) and you can also restuff it if it ever gets too soft for you. Or if it’s too firm, perhaps you could redo it to your liking? - This sectional is HUGE! Well, bigger than what we expected and I couldn’t be happier! We were so used to being squished on family movie nights that now all five of us have so much room to spread out and really have room to snuggle and be comfortable, too! Seriously, people, for the price I am thrilled at all the little extras I didn’t expect!! I found a sectional at Costco I liked but when I went back, it had sold out. It was in the same price range that we paid for here (I noticed the price actually fluctuates on this piece) however the seat cushions were attached at the one at Costco, it had no zipper on the cushions and it wasn’t as big as this one here on Amazon!! One thing I did one to note: it does not have any hook or connector piece to keep the chaise and sofa together. If this is important to you (it will slide on wooden floor), there’s an easy solution! We purchased here on Amazon a Sofa Snap model #917 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NWQ83Y/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it works GREAT! We only got one and it works like a charm. We went ahead and got the 5 Year Smart Guard warranty for this sectional. It may not be as well made as those found for over $1,200 at your local furniture store, but I do want it to last for my family so we thought it smart and well worth it to purchase this. If you do so, make sure to check your email for the registration email from the company. If you do not receive an email after four days, CALL THEM!! It is important to follow up and make sure you have it registered in their system in case you ever need to use it. Overall, if you are looking for a nice big sectional that isn’t expensive, then this Bobkona sectional is for you! I’ll come back here in a couple of months and post an update. So far we’re very pleased with our purchase. 2015 UPDATE: It has been a year -wow! We're still incredibly happy with this piece!! With three kids, a cat, and lots of snuggletime on the couch, it's still holding up really well! Nothing has broken -wood is just fine. Cleans wonderfully - so even though we've spilled stuff on it (and usually on the ottoman!) we've managed to remove it with a bit of water. The cushions are still nice and firm. I flip them over from time to time and vacuum them every week. I would totally buy another in a heartbeat! Update 2019: Finally starting to "fall apart." It's been six years, though, and I still do not regret this purchase. The wooden part of the arm rest just broke and it's feeling very uneven. You can feel the springs now. The fabric has held up very well -no stains and cleans beautifully. But like all "cheap" things, they do eventually fall apart and this couch is no exception.
