So far I love this bottle
So far, I have put this through tests with hot water, and coffee, and tests with ice water. Since hydro flask is the more expensive vacuum insulated bottle, that is what I compared it to. So far I love this bottle! if you put them side by side, and covered up the markings, you would not be able to tell the difference between these bottles and the hydro flasks. I have several hydro flasks, and I love them, but they are a bit more expensive. After purchasing this bottle, I would much rather save the money and buy this brand. They are identical, even down to the lids, if you wanted to put a different type of hydro flask lid on this bottle, it would fit just fine. the wide mouth is the same size, ant the threads are also the same. The lid that comes on it is also identical, with the only difference being the wording in the rubber section. The coating on the outside of the bottle is the same, which is great feel and moderate non slip abilities.
Now down to the tests! I started with the boiling hot water test to determine if the vacuum was sealed like it was supposed to be (if the vacuum is good, the outside of the bottle will not get hot when you add the hot water). So I boiled water on the stove and added it to the both of the bottles at the same time (the fluid bottle, and the hydro flask). Neither of them got hot, which is great! it still hard to believe that the vacuum insulation works so well in these types of bottles. I tested the water after 4 hours, and it was still scolding hot ( I would not recommend drinking any hot liquid at this point without adding some ice first to cool it down. I checked the bottle again at 6 hours, and it was finally at a manageable temperature to enjoy without adding ice. It was still on the hot side, but I like my hot drinks to be very hot. I checked it again at 8 hours, and it was about the same as the 6 hour mark. I then checked it again at 10 hours, it was now beginning to cool slightly, but was still hot enough that some people might think it was still too hot to drink. I checked it again at 12 hours, and it was now about the temperature that you would have coming out of the hot water tap in most homes. I checked it for the last time at 16 hours, and it was down to a luke warm temperature. (during my tests, I was also checking the hydro flask at the same time, with it being the exact same temperatures).
Then I went on to the ice test. I filled both of the bottles to the top with ice, until i could not get any more in either of them. I then added cold water from the tap, closed the lids, and let them sit. The first observation about the fluid bottle, and the hydro flask was that neither of them had condensation on the outside throughout the whole cold tests. I first checked the bottles at 12 hours, and they were both still at the very top with ice, it was as if the ice had just been added to them. I re checked them at 24 hours, and they still had about half of the ice left in the bottle. I checked them again at 36 hours, and they had roughly one third of the ice remaining in them. I checked them again at 48 hours, and the ice just small slivers at this point. My last observation was at 58 hours, the ice was completely melted in both of the bottles, but the water was still slightly cooler than the tap water. ( the base temperature in my house remained a constant 74 degrees ).
Over all, I am very impressed with this fluid bottle, going forward, I will recommend this to everyone, and tell them to save their money. Why pay more for the same thing, especially since the ONLY difference is the name that is printed on it.
I heavily rely on amazon for reviews of nearly everything before I buy. I like to give back to the community by reviewing items myself. Some items are offered to me for a discount. My opinion and review is never persuaded by this fact. My reviews are always honest and accurate to my experience. I do not only review items that are sent to me at a discount either, the majority of my reviews are on items that I paid full price for. With that in mind, this item was sent to me for a discount in exchange for a review. I have thoroughly tested it and my reviews are always 100% honest and are not affected by the discount given.
