I was not sure this would do the trick- I was an avid fan user ( otherwise known as fan-dependent ) and typical sound machines didn't cut it because the sound would be too flat. Summer time was not an issue for me but once cold weather rolled around I didn't want so much air movement. I found this in a local department store and from the first night I used it I was hooked! It actually is moving air but not in the disruptive way a fan does, so the sound is not a flat sound machine type of white noise. Another perk is the size, it fits in a relatively small space and can be anywhere in the room. Win -win!
