Look, the doggo really, really, really loves this toy. But we had to take it away because he played with it so much, that his teeth made ridges in the plastic ball, and those ridges started scratching up his nose. This ball would be absolutely fantastic for a herding dog that isn't going to be able to get his teeth into it or that isn't interested in chewing on it at all. My dog loved this toy and herded it around the yard just like in some of the user submitted videos - but he chewed at it, too. His nose would actually bleed from playing after the plastic had scratches. Edit: We still let the dog play with it in one-to-two hour increments about three times a week, if we need him to be entertained outside. We also occasionally SAND DOWN the ball to get rid of the ridges that scratch his nose. Since we started sanding + limiting his exposure, we have had zero issues with the toy. It's still his favorite and he'll drop everything to happily go outside and play with it. I've updated my score from a 4 to a 5 with acceptance that the ball needs maintenance to continue being safe.
