Save a buck with this DIYer
The trap definitely works but as soon as I opened it up when I figured out that I could have saved myself a few bucks. If you're thinking of buying this do yourself a favor while you're waiting for that sweet sweet Amazon delivery and try this: I took a photo of my dead simple setup which is 100% as effective as this trap. Basically, grab a shallow dish of some sort, a desk lamp and something sticky. I used cooking oil but honey or shampoo would have worked just as well. I would avoid soapy water because my cat drank some of it. He's fine - hasn't burped any bubbles - but why take the risk?
With the trap set up in one room I decided to mount an all-out offensive against these critters. So in another room I set down the lamp and two lids with oil. Sure enough, within an hour I was happily tallying my body count.
Again, no knocks on the Victor trap. Works as advertised. Just that you can do the same thing for free right now with what you have laying around so why wait?
