Lekeye tub hair catcher vs OXO
My house uses a septic system, so I want to do everything in my power to avoid clogs & backups. I did as much research as I could to pick the best tub hair strainer, which led me to these two. I couldn’t decide, so I got one of each. I subsequently ordered 3 of the Lekeye ones for each of my tubs.
The Lekeye strainer is sturdily built and heavy so it really doesn’t ever move. Also, the hole pattern & nubs design traps hair well. The OXO is much lighter, and traps ok, but sometimes hair goes thru the slightly larger holes.
My only complaint is the height of both of them. I don’t see why they have to be so tall. Or at least offer a shorter version. And offer a sink version as well. Ikea sinks do not have hair strainers for some reason, and the drain hole is blocked so you can’t even insert one. If Lekeye or OXO designed a ssmaller one, whether over-drain or an insert, specifically to work w the ikea sink, that would be a huge market to gain.
Edit: it’s been 2 months now, and I will commit to saying that I love the Lekeye hair strainer. It’s far and away the best one I’ve come across. I generally love OXO products, and their hair strainer is fine, but falls way short comparatively.
