Their Claim: Charges iPads (multiple generations) and iPhones My Verdict (details below): True You plug the wall dongle into your outlet, and the USB end of the wire into female hole on the other side. This is not an Apple product, being mfgr'ed by another company. Unlike others I tried and returned, this had NO problem juicing an iPod, iPhone 4, 5, and iPad 2nd generation. Since the wire unplugs, you can use it with your computer's USB port for downloads, or in your car lcharger. The fact they're not one piece is a big advantage. I like this product, and ordered two additional ones for family in fact.
