We kept this in our backyard for two months while we waiting for a cat rescue shelter to have room to take our little stray kitty that showed up skinny and hungry one day. He took to the shelter immediately and even became very protective of it. It warmed up nicely inside and he spent many cold nights inside staying warm. He didn't care for the plastic velcro door, though, so we kept it in place on one side and open on the other. Still very warm inside on the surface of the heating pad and through a blanket. Highly recommend this!
