I had to write a quick review, in case someone else experiences my situation! I was so excited to get these sheets. I had never had linen sheets before, and I decided to spend the extra cash on a bday present for myself. I was so in love when they arrived, as the color (aqua) was so soft, and gave that very typical feel I was going for in my room. I immediately put them on my bed, and couldn't wait to sleep on them that night. Bedtime came...and holy hell! I almost cried on the spot! They were the scratchiest, roughest, sheets I had ever experienced! I wanted to love them so badly!! I tore them off my bed so I could sleep that night. I started reading more about linen, and stumbled upon a recommendation! I thought what the hell, can't hurt! My first mistake was I hadn't washed them before putting them on the bed - too excited I suppose - but looking back I wonder what the hell I was thinking?! I decided to take the advice I read about washing them first in baking soda only! Then a second wash in Woolite. No harsh detergent, or fabric softener! I am beyond ecstatic to say "Voila" it worked!! I had read that the baking soda would remove the chemicals they are coated with when packaging to make them look more appealing! Now I love my sheets! They will only get softer with each wash and look beautiful. They DO wrinkle like crazy, but I actually love that lived in look - all I do is iron the pillow cases a little and it's fabulous! Very Happy Girl! 1 cup of BAKING SODA my friends - does the trick!
