Like the rest of you reading all these reviews, I also checked out a whole bunch of food processors before getting this one. I read all the Amazon reviews and then went on to Consumer Reports, Good Housekeeping, etc. etc. What my research told me was that this food processor is up there with the big dogs. So, here's what I found: I am a tree hugging vegan, with a social worker's budget. I got this food processor to help me with making hummus, other vegan dips and sauces, and chopping. It works great! It didn't break my bank. I have other Hamilton Beach products that have stood the test of time. If this is like them, I plan on having this product for many years. The people who are complaining that the "hole is too small" need to get a life. I made 3 cups of hummus in this thing in 6 minutes. If I need to make 9 cups of hummus, it might take me 18 minutes. That's a lot of hummus, folks. The construction of this product is solid and it has the suction cup feet so it doesn't "walk" around the counter. It is easy to put together and easy to take apart and clean. It also looks cool with the brushed chrome and black. Some people said it was too noisy. I don't know what whisper quiet world these people live in, but this is a machine, and yes, there was a "whirring sound" as it processed my food in seconds. Not one complaint. My former room mate had a Cuisinart food processor and I found the thing cumbersome to put together and take apart. I like an appliance where I don't need an engineering degree to work the thing. I am recommending this product with the most stars you give it. It is solid, works great, and affordable.
