If you are looking for this movie to be a comedy because of its leading actor Eddie Murphy and his history of being in comedies, or a movie where there are many special effects, or Eddie appearing as multiple characters at once; well this is not it. If you are looking for an entertaining movie that that you can be pulled into the story by its characters, then this movie is it. You can sit back and relax by yourself or whomever, including children, and simply enjoy this movie from beginning to end. Like an onion, this movie has many layers they get peeled away disclosing secrets to the story line that you can't help yourself smiling from. For me, there were countless times in which I reacted with emotion to the story and from the acting; emotions ranging from from smiles to being choked in almost crying, some of you may simply do so; characteristics of a great movie without the need for special effects. One thing I will say about the story from reading others reviews, yes there are some holes in the story that leave you asking questions as it progresses with fast forwards in time, and my reaction is so what! There is a tremendous amount story telling that does go on that at the end, you just want to clap and stand up if this were a play. If you don't have the time to watch this movie now, then just add it to your watch list for viewing later, you won't be disappointed unless you are a film student or critic, then I guess it is your duty to find fault with everything. Thank you Amazon for adding this to the Prime movie list and thank you Eddie Murphy for staring in it... a long way from your appearances in SNL and Beverly Hills Cop, Bravo.
