This clock is nearly perfect, at least for me. It has one quirky design flaw that makes it 4.5 stars for me and not 5 which I'll note in the cons section below. I didn't buy this at Amazon as happened across it in a retail big box store. It replaces another projection clock that lacked a radio feature (I like to wake to the radio) so I've had my eye out for a replacement for awhile with few prospects that met my needs. PROS: >Illuminated clock face brightness has multiple levels including OFF (no light shining in your face) >Adjustable projection display with multiple orientations >Projection digits are HUGE. My wife, who has very poor uncorrected vision, can read it projected on the ceiling no problem >Projection shows which alarms (if any) are active >Dual alarms >Alarms have option to wake to buzzer, radio or nature sounds >USB port and cable for charging phones etc. Even works on power hungry iPad >Battery backup NEUTRALS (pretty standard stuff): >Relatively easy to operate (i.e set time, alarm, etc) as compared to similar products >Nature sounds are nice, not really my cup of tea though and there are only 4. The rain one would be better if there was thunder. >AM/FM radio >External AM antenna. I guess it's necessary for good reception but makes for a cluttered setup CONS: >This is the big one for me - the projection is ONLY ACTIVE FOR 16 HRS and then SHUTS OFF. I can't understand why they designed it this way other than maybe to prevent some sort of overheating or premature bulb wear. I've had multiple projection clocks and none ever shut off unless they went on battery power due to AC interruption. Basically, every night before bed I need to turn it back on which is an annoyance. >No escalating alarm...this would be a nice to have for a gently wake up.
