The epic battle for the heart and soul of America continues…
“In fact, the theology of administrative science and historicism, after more than a century of progressive centralized governance in America, has demonstrated in infinite ways that it is not a science at all. The massive present-day administrative state is inflicted with extensive imperfections and dislocations. Its widespread shortcomings and deficiencies include massive amounts of waste, fraud and abuse; extensive managerial incompetence and delinquencies; overlapping programs and red tape; and failed promises and objectives—all which are documented in countless investigations, audits, reports and books (including my own book ‘Plunder and Deceit’). There is simply no validation of a vast, complex modern society humanely and effectively managed by a centralized Leviathan reporting to a single chief executive, the President.” – page 127 They have deluded themselves into believing that they are always the smartest people in the room. Progressives really do think that the American people are essentially incapable of managing their own lives. These elites exhibit immense disdain for such core American values as religious liberty, free market capitalism, individualism, free speech and private property rights. Furthermore, progressives loathe due process and the rule of law because in their world the ends always justify the means. They detest tradition and dogma of any kind and crave power. The Left destroys everything it touches. Over the past several decades progressives have gained control of large segments of the media, Hollywood, academia, the courts, foundations, church bureaucracies and the administrative state. In his latest book “Rediscovering Americanism and The Tyranny of Progressivism” Mark Levin explains how events over the past century have brought our nation to this sorry state of affairs and how the American people might gradually extricate themselves from the quagmire we now find ourselves in. He identifies who the key movers, shakers and thinkers have been on both sides of this monumental tug-of-war for the heart and soul of the country. He hones in on the writings of such prominent left-wing philosophers as Karl Marx, G.W.F. Hegel, Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Herbert Croly and points out the fatal flaws in their worldview. Needless to say, Levin believes that time is of the essence here and opines that the country needs to get its house in order in the very near future. He goes on to offer some definite ideas on how these anti-American utopian statists might ultimately be defeated. As has been the case with each of Mark Levin’s five other titles over the past dozen years “Rediscovering Americanism and The Tyranny of Progressivism” is a thoughtful, meticulously researched and exceptionally well-written book. If you are one of those people who have not given these matters very much thought I would urge you to pick up a copy of "Rediscovering Americanism" and read it with an open mind. Conversely, if you are a person who is largely in agreement with the principles espoused by our Founding Fathers I would wholeheartedly encourage you to pick up a copy of “Rediscovering Americanism” as well. Mark Levin's compelling book will help to crystallize the arguments in your mind as your attempt to influence your friends, relatives, co-workers and neighbors. Kudos to Mark Levin for yet another extremely well thought-out and well-executed project. Very highly recommended!
