You don't "get a lot for your money" because you can get a giant bag for cheaper from other brands. And while the word "ORGANIC" is slapped on hugely, perlite is not a naturally-occurring substrate so it might not be to everyone's tastes.
That said, this perlite is the epitome of flawless perlite. They are perfect-sized and the pores aren't too big that it looks too much like styrofoam. Perlite does wonders in my pots by making the soil less compact and increasing drain-ability. I wouldn't pot any succulents without.
Just remember to not breathe any of it (not just this brand, but any brand). Perlite is volcanic glass that has been expanded by heat to make it porous. It can be very dangerous if it gets into your lungs. I've gotten bad headaches from perlite, but I read that it can also make you cough up blood. When handling it, I wear a cloth over my face now to be safe. As an inert substrate, it's safe in your soil and won't get sucked up into your plant. Just remember to wash edibles well!
