I hate to be another reviewer comparing this case to an Otterbox, but my review is relevant, being that I own both. I have always been a strong advocate of Otterbox cases. I have had one for every smart phone and iPod Touch that I have owned since 2010.
When the iPhone 6 came out, I purchased the Otterbox Defender on the day I got my new phone, assuming that it would be the best option for my new investment. After having it on for almost a month, I was getting sick of it. The response with the Touch ID was less than ideal and the access to the charging port was so small that it rendered all of my Amazon Lightning cables useless. I decided to take a chance with the SUPCASE. I was hesitant to order because of the mixed reviews it was getting. I received my case today and I am very impressed. The "fit and finish" is superb for a $20 case. However, there are a few disadvantages to this case. Regardless, I would recommend this case to any iPhone 6 owner looking for a cheaper alternative to the Otterbox; it is a great investment.
PROS:
- adds little weight to the phone, considering the protection level
- dust proof case (does not leave dust ring scratches on the phone like Otterboxes will)
- great touch response (including touch ID sensor)
- visually appealing
- large opening to charging port
- all buttons are still very easy to use
- the price!
CONS:
- "Rainbow Effect" when the screen protector contacts the phone screen
- tiny dots on the screen protector visible when the screen is off (can be annoying to anyone who is as particular about their phone as I am)
- the removable color-matching pieces seem like they will easily fall off
- difficult to put on/ take off
