Annoyed I continue to trim and lay the preparations for ...
So there I was, trimming a tri tip when I hear it. The all to distinct buzz of my ever elusive nemesis. The one that all too often will just tease me forever stopping near by to taunt me and flee just before I can swat it. Annoyed I continue to trim and lay the preparations for its demise, this time will be different, oh yes, very different.
Buzz, it zips by my ear to taunt me again. But finally I am ready. I lay the excess trimmings on a plate and retreat around the corner. There I arm myself with the Fathers day gift my wife just gave me, the Bug-A-Salt 2.0. I pump, and flip the safety off. Patiently waiting for my prey to take the bait.
Finally it happens, it lands and begins doing whatever twisted grotesque things they do. I pounce with cat like grace aim, squeeze the trigger and boom! The fly takes and upward bounce and lands on its feet and goes to ground. Winged it. I quickly pump and disable the safety again not to let my prey have a chance to elude me once again, like it always seems to do when I try to use a traditional swatter. Squeeze and boom this time I have done it. One dead fly. Words are inadequate to describe the joy I felt in that moment.
