I’m not sure what some of these other reviews are talking about. I’m not sure that they even bought this same model knife. Maybe Black and Decker changed the design significantly in the last little while? All I can say is that I like the knife. I got exactly what I expected when I bought it. It is an electric knife with a finger actuated button (not thumb actuated, you have it upside-down), with very deep serrations on the blade. The trigger does have a locking mechanism but it is not-not-not spring loaded and does not lock automatically. It does not require two hands to operate. It is a light weight, no frills, no accessories, simple to use, inexpensive, must-have kitchen tool! Recommended.
