You hit it...
First off, I gave it a 3 for ease of cleaning because the top part (the blunt block that pushes the veggie through) has like 100 small crevices, and if you've used this to dice anything that's a little soft (tomato, mushroom, etc) you're gonna get pieces stuck in there. And the crevices are so thin you can't just pick them out. You gotta blast them or actually dig with a be spatula. Pretty annoying but, they can't really design that part in a different way so doesn't really feel right to dock them for it. Would be like saying a burger is bad because beef gives you gas. Not the burger's fault, not yours, you get it. Now, to address many of the reviews talking about how you need a big man or you need to step on it. What? No no. Here's how you use the thing: lay the veggie on the blades, making sure none of it is touching the sides, but as far from the back (the side opposite the opening end) as possible, as the farther toward the back it is, the less it can close down before touching the veggie. Then push *with your normal strength*, until it's not going anymore. At this point, the cuts have started. If you just push, push, force slowly with umph, it can smush the softer veggies. No - what you do at this point is literally smack the thing down, (guys: like it just checked out your wife - ladies: like it just told you to smile more). Think of it like the difference between pushing a sword through something more slowly, vs just jabbing that som' b. with pinache. The cut will be more clean, and you will have momentum adding to it. You don't need to be strong to do this. I'm short enough that women don't swipe right on me in dating apps. I am smol man. But that thing, it checked out my imaginary girlfriend. I can't just let that slide. *WHOMP*, boom, cleanly diced tomato, only a little marinara snot. If you're calling on a guy to do it, or you're stepping on it (can't believe that one, wow dude) you're definitely not getting the full appreciation. It's nice to just hit something now and then. And how often do you get to hit something and then cook it. This is called opportunity, my friends. This thing is amazing. Now onions don't make me cry. I make them cry.
