I read the reviews where many were skeptical and so I was too, but I also evaluated a competing product that's 2-3 times more. With the 90-day return policy I thought it was worth trying even though I'd give up the 3+ year warranty. I live next door to 4 pit bulls and 2 bulldogs that are in kennels. The dogs will break into a chorus of barks that will last for 5 min or more at the slightest noise. We spend a lot of time outdoors on our deck and gazebo and have put up with the noise for years. Using our own musing does not drown out the barking. I used a laser measuring device to show the kennels are 53-60 feet away. I mounted the device at a height of 6 feet and my only clear shot is throw the leaves you see. I couldn't believe how the controller worked immediately. I continued to test them by banging my trash cans and the dogs occasionally barked or not all--all I could say was "wow"! Also noticed how well it worked when i noticed today they were barking incessantly; when I investigated, the 9V battery was dead because the green LED did not come on. As expected, the dogs kept barking while I went to replace the battery. As soon as it was back in place, the barking dropped to just one dog barking for under 30 seconds but the others would not join in. All I can say is it works and only wish I would have done this sooner. I cut out the bottom of a plastic basket from one of those dollar stores to keep the heavy rain out and so it won't void the warranty--the basket is flexible and naturally curves around the tree.
