Pet Ramp put us back on the road again!
Petgear's Tri-fold Pet Ramp is lightweight enough for me, a frail but spry middle age woman, to toss in and out of a car. The ramp is heavy duty enough to handle a 100 pound tortoise....yup, I said tortoise. I can no longer pick up and put my sulcata tortoise into the car but I NEED to get him in and out of the car. Besides his yearly veterinarian visit, we love to go to the park, the pet store, and events like the Walk for Autism. Petgear Travel-Lite Tri-Fold Ramp get's us there. Frankie (of Frankie Tortoise Tails) is wider than the average dog so I had to buy two ramps. Two ramps are perfect for Frankie. The Tri-Fold ramp handles Frankie's 105 pounds and my occasional 130 when I need to put a food, leg or self on the ramp to assist Frankie. He has scratched up the sand-paper-like attached surface for grip but I expected that. Keeping the ramp(s) steady is the biggest challenge. I use the provided safety tether attachment at the top to keep the ramp from sliding away from the car. The second photo shows the wood frame I built for the bottom to keep the two ramps from slipping around on the ground. The frame holds everything safely in place. It isn't simple getting Frankie in and out of the car but at least with the Petgear ramps he can get in and out safely without me having to pick him up, and we are back on the road again! .
