Not a quick fix but does work! Did before and after with HD filter
(UPDATE: another reviewer/commenter just shared that soaking the roller in Efferdent for 10 minutes will remove the debris, so will be safe to re-use, although will still need replacing eventually due to needle dulling.) I have just started using this 1mm roller after using lower depth roller the last two months,(I roll every 3-4 weeks since collagen building is what I'm after, and this takes time), but I discovered a great way to TEST if this device is really working (or for that matter if whatever your skin regime is works), aside from subjective opinion. First though do your homework on proper usage of the rollers, (sterility, how hard and long to roll - see youtube for guidance) etc. Take a picture of yourself BEFORE you start the process, in good light, with no makeup, taking note of how far you place the camera from your face and angle etc, and save the picture on your computer. Then wait at least 6 weeks (preferably two or three months), take another picture in the same light at the same distance, save to your computer then use the High Def effect in your photo software on your computer (or use the free one I mention below) and you will see with your own eyes the difference! From the naked eye my skin did not look bad at all in my 'before' picture - but with the filter I describe you will see what is going on with your skin - and then the follow up picture will show you the improvements. (I use google products and they have a free photo editing download called picasa - and in that under 'effects' in the editing area is something called "HD" - you will be horrified when you apply this effect to your 'before' picture if you have any sun damage - which most of us, especially Caucasians, have - it will bring out the sun damage and flaws in the extreme! They are flaws that are actually there, not creating them, and then emphasizing them! It will make you want to swear off the sun too. (I cross tested the accuracy of this effect in picking up skin damage by applying it to a four year old's face - no damage!) Alternatively, If you have an iphone, you can get the free Adobe Photoshop express app and then apply the 'sharpen', 'sketch' effects under edit option (picture of pencil), then reduce the exposure, doing this will give the effect of making skin damage visible and having a good 'before' starting point for any skin improvement regime. When I took another picture after a month - there was a definite reduction in the apparent sun damage, applying the HD filter to the picture and comparing them side by side! I can't wait to check again a few months down the road.
