Worked for my dog !! READ THIS REVIEW!!
Not sure why all the bad reviews since it worked for my dog ! Disclaimer: I felt the need to write this review not to help out humans but to help out the poor dogs that are stuck inside holding their bladder while their human is at work. So listen up people! This is what you do: get a potty patch, potty pads, and an attractant spray (this one worked for my dog, if it doesn’t work for yours try other brands. (& get disinfectant spray). Put the pads under the fake grass patch so that cleanup is easy. Spray attractant on potty PADS not the patch !!! Then place fake grass on top. At first without the spray my dog would just roll around and scratch her back on the grass. When I liberally added the spray THE VERY NEXT DAY i came home to poop on the patch !!! So when I first got home, since she was on the patio doing her thing before she came in, she didn’t realize I had seen the poop. So I lead her over to the patch and when she saw where we were going she immediately thought she did something bad... now this part is KEY! You sit there with a high tone of voice and PRAISE her over and over for like 10 minutes telling her how good she is to POTTY on the patch. Offer her treats, pet them over and over until she understands that she was a VERY good girl. Then let them see you pick up the poop and throw it away. This further reinforces that it’s ok to potty there. She was so happy with herself that we played intense fetch until she was exhausted. She was so confident in her behavior that she looked happy that she had done such a good deed. Do all of the above and comment if it works for you! Cleanup is easy btw. Hang it up, spray poo particles off with a decently powerful nozzle on both sides of patch, let drip dry then spray Lysol disinfectant all over patch and let dry in the sun. Replace used potty pads and spray a LOT of attractant on pads so they can smell it thru any remaining disinfectant smell. I hope this helps out any dog that’s sitting at home holding their bladder all day. Now they will have a safe place to go while knowing they get positive reinforcement for going there. Win win for everyone... humans too!
Edit: She no longer uses the pad but also doesn't have accidents...So I'm not sure if she's just finicky or what. Will try spraying on rocks and inside like others have mentioned
