I'm moderately handy and install was a breeze. The instructions are good enough that really anyone with an adjustable wrench can put one of these on. One word of caution would be anytime you are monkeying with your plumbing you can run into unexpected issues. If your toilet water supply line is in reasonably good shape you shouldn't have any issue but if you've got an older water shut off you might still consider having it installed on the outside chance there is an issue with the valve/supply leaking. As for the product itself it is pure simplicity. The self cleaning function is nice and the knobs are in a good location to be reached easily and after a few uses you don't even think/look you just give it a quick couple blasts and you are clean and good to go. I would recommend if you have a family unfamiliar with a bidet you do a quick tutorial. My wife got a good blast in the face when she (out of curiosity) just turned the knob standing in front of the toilet. Super funny to me....not so much to her. Depending on your water pressure (ours is quite high) you might find the water blast a bit much but the variable knob lets you adjust it. Go slow and increase as you need to and you'll have an ok time. (or don't and get a forceful enema...dealers choice) In all I'd highly recommend this product. I'm getting one for every toilet in the house (we started with 1 to try it out)
