No Complaints. Worked great for my Brother CS-6000i sewing machine
I took a risk in buying this item because all of the reviews said that it wouldn't work for the Brother CS-6000i sewing machine. I really wanted a ruffler foot and Brother doesn't make one for this machine. I thought that for $10 it was worth it just to try. The first time I tried it I thought that all of the reviews were right and that it wouldn't work for my machine. My needle kept hitting the metal part of the machine and I was afraid it would break which seems to be the main complaint. I tried this foot on my sister's Singer machine and it worked wonderfully. I gave my machine one more try and it worked without any problems. One thing I know for sure is that you need to make sure that the slot of the foot matches up with the hole the needle goes down into. Make sure it is properly attached to your machine via the manual instructions. (Not the ruffler foot instructions but your machine's instructions on how to properly change your presser foot.) Also, for the Brother CS-6000i make sure your needle is set to number 01 which will be the setting that puts your needle in the middle of the foot and not to the left. If it's set on the setting to the left (it's default/ number 00) it will cause the needle to hit metal and will cause it to break.
If you have a problem with the foot not pulling in fabric at first than the metal slat is pulled to far back. Push it towards your needle a little bit and it should start catching your fabric. This foot isn't easy like a normal presser foot so you do have to work with it and figure it out.
I gave this 5 stars because I really don't have a reason to give it any less. I could give it less for having terrible instructions but as far as the functionality of this presser foot there isn't a reason to. I'm not writing a review on the instructions. Like I said before, this isn't the most user friendly contraption so you might have to work with it if you don't know your machine that well. Make sure to look in your manual to make sure that you are setting it up right. Also, if you bought this ruffler foot without having watched how a ruffler foot works I would suggest looking up on youtube for a video to see how it pulls in fabric. It was helpful to me so I knew what to expect and where my fabric needed to be.
