Yeppers - it's sticky ribbon tape. They fly onto it and can't fly off. It's that simple. This one was the best bang for my buck - so I bought it. It worked. Still have many rolls left for the next time I need them - which I hope is never... Because I hate Bugs. So much. I hate that I have to review products like this - but if you're reading this, then YOU need it TOO. Save yourself some time: Get this one. It works the way it's supposed to. It's inexpensive - you get a lot of rolls for not a lot of money. It was delivered quickly. You have better things to do than read more reviews about fly tape! *Note: this was for a residential use. To catch flies (& various other bugs) during the summer that the dogs kept letting in every time they went in & out of the house or the kids/husband just left the patio doors open for hours, and also our Fruit Fly invasion. Keep in mind that they are very, VERY sticky. Thus it takes a little while to unroll them - as it sticks to itself. And take extra care not to touch it wherever you do hang it - as it is VERY STICKY. And YES it will be very disgusting when you need to take it down. Are you still reading? Wow! You must really need these (like I did) so just buy them already!
