Works Internationally (220/240V)
Yes, despite what most people are saying, the entire "Outlets to Go" line of power strips WILL work internationally with a 220/240V connection. I found several people who had emailed Monster on the subject and I myself did the same. Remember that the electronic device you connect to it needs to be able to handle the voltage as well. But it will work overseas. The USB port has a converter built into it already to convert down to 5V DC[NOTE: converter is for the USB port ONLY. Converts down to 5V. There is NO converter for the main functionality of the unit.] Update 4-25-2012: I am aware the unit only SAYS 125v printed on it. I've received replies saying the unit won't work on 220V because the unit "says so". that is not true. The unit does not say it WON'T work on 220v, it only states that it WILL work on 125v. Normally that would "imply" that 220v is not compatible, but as I said before, I spoke with Monster Cable and they told me it will work on 220v. I have also successfully tested this on many trips to Europe and the Middle East. It does works despite what the text printed on the unit says. And for FINAL PROOF, from the FAQ section on the Monster Cable website: "Can I use my Outlets To Go in a 220 / 240 volt country? Yes your Outlets To Go will function with the appropriate plug adapter. Make sure that any devices you will be using can also work in multi voltage applications. If not, a converter will be necessary." ~That quote comes from Monster Cable's website and should be sufficient proof. Update 2-15-2013: I feel the need to update once more based on two comments (Anthony and Lisa). This is NOT a power converter. This is not an adapter. It is only a power splitter. It turns 1 plug into 3 plugs. When you plug it into a 240v wall outlet, expect 240v to come out the other side. But once again I will reiterate, this device is capable of handling 240volts. You will not damage it. However, any electronics you plug into it have their own limitations, and if they fry it's not the outlet's fault. If what you have is rated for only 110v you need a "converter". This is not. Update 6-27-2013: The USB port does a respectable job of charging my Android phone and my wife's iPhone. I don't know if I can say for certain that it is a "fast" charger, but it's not slow either. It gets the job done. I plug it in before bed and my phone is always charged come morning. Good enough for me.
