Cheap cash-in on Chinese people's suffering
"Bend, Not Break." What an appropriate title for a book that BENDS facts! You can bend them alright, but you can never BREAK those facts. Look, I hate the Cultural Revolution catastrophy as much as the next guy. But Ping Fu simply went too far in distorting and fabricating facts with regard to Cultural Revolution. Her book becomes a cheap cash-in on the (very real) sufferings of her fellow Chinese. Ping Fu was a Red Guard herself! --Photo evidence: amazon does not allow links in reviews but you can google the article "Bend, Not Break: Leadership Lessons For Resilience Amid Struggle" at the "Fastocompany" website. In the photo, on the flag the title reads "Red Guard." As a Red Guard, SHE herself WAS one of those that persecuted others in the Cultural Revolution! Afterall, that was exactly what the Red Guards do! And now she is asserting that she was persecuted and violated by the Red Guard?! While she is at it, maybe she can claim that some Nazi guard suffered greatly under the persecution of his fellow Nazi guard... I can't continue writing this review. I need to fix my hypocrisy detector which overloaded and then exploded.
