I am here to hopefully make someone's life easier after they change the filter on this thing and the mist stops/the machine emits an annoying high pitched sound. I had this humidifier for about a year, loved it, and then went to change the filter and all hell broke loose. I ordered the exact filter from this manufacturer, took the humidifier apart, replaced the filter, and the machine would barely let out a mist and make this very annoying high pitch sound. I was so frustrated. After watching many YouTube videos, I figured out my issue. There is a small spring that goes AT THE BOTTOM of the long tube where the filter goes in. I had the spring, but in taking the humidifier apart, I must've forgotten where it needs to be, so I was putting the spring back at the top of the tube, on top of the filter. This was leading to the no mist/sound problem. I put the spring at the bottom of the tube, put the filter on top of that (making sure the filter had been saturated for a period of time before) and turned it into the locked position. Problem solved. Sorry for going on and on - but if just ONE person benefits from this solution as I did, I would love to spare someone the frustration that I faced. As another note, I reached out to the seller for help and they were very slow to respond/not helpful. They asked if I had misplaced the spring without telling me where it needed to go. So, not great customer service. But now that I fixed my machine, I am very happy with the product and will continue to use it!
