I wasn't expecting a miracle or even a major change, but I was hoping this might "take the edge off" the tensions between three of my cats; "Bully," "Perpetual Victim." and "Innocent Bystander." It worked well enough to cause a LULL in the aggressive cycle, giving us a chance to experiment with some behavior ideas. It's hard to asses cause-and-effect. Did the spray calm B, so that PV became less frightful? Or was PV calmed and thus wasn't such a fun and reactive target for B? Did they both respond to the spray, and experienced a dual effect? Our IV enjoyed the new calmer atmosphere and is doing better, too. I sprayed areas where they sleep, and sprayed myself or a throw pillow so that they would associate the spray with quiet time when I am petting them. I haven't yet sprayed inside a carrier. It has a lavender scent, I don't mind it. I never found it "too wet," because I spray it conservatively. It never affected any furniture or clothing. I sprayed some in my sneakers to freshen them up, and of course I found...cat snoring away with his nose buried in my shoe. Want to cheer up your cat while calming it?
