NOT for Short-Waisted People With a High-Back Kayak Seat
This is a really really nice life vest. Everything the other reviewers say about it is true--it is the most comfortable of all the (many) life vests I tried on (I tried on many higher end ones too, such as the Astral V-Eight and the MTI Sentry). The arm holes are huge, the outside of the best is soft (not a scratchy/net-ish feel), and it is extremely comfortable. And yes, "you forget you have it on." HOWEVER: I very sadly had to return it and purchase the Astral V-Eight instead, because THE BACK WAS NOT HIGH ENOUGH. I am 4 ft. 10 in. tall, am short-waisted, and have a kayak with a high seat back. The seat in the kayak pushed this vest right up into my face. I was not willing to make the kayak backrest lower just in order to deal the life vest. So I had to google "high back kayak life vest" and purchase one of those instead. If you don't have this issue, do indeed buy the Onyx.
