I must admit that until just recently no one could convince me to consider anything other than HID’s when it came to upgrading headlights. But after enduring some blown fuses, a few ballasts malfunctioning and light bulbs going bad, I decided to give LED’s a try, mainly based on the overwhelming positive reviews. I still believe HID’s are the best choice when maximum brightness is desired, however new LED technology rivals some of the brightest HIDs. They’re also true plug-n-play, by eliminating the bulky high-voltage ballasts and the cumbersome wiring harness commonly found on HID kits. Some of them even claim to be fully waterproof. Be mindful, however, that depending on the style, enough clearance is required behind the headlight housing due to the somewhat bulky heatsink cooling fan. I recommended investing on a good set of LEDs since just like HIDs; their longevity is heavily dependent on their quality of their craftsmanship. There are different styles and wattage, so do your research and choose wisely. But so far base on in my experience, you won’t be disappointed.
