These are NOT premier drill bits. Like most of modern day Dewalt stuff, they are made in China from Chinese steel. If you want the best, payseven times as much and purchase from a reputable American manufacturer. There are a few left. I did and am very happy with THOSE bits. But my review is for THESE bits. I give them five stars because they are very good bits for the money. I bought them for utility use when I do not want to use my good bits. I have been quite happy with them. Some people give less than five star reviews for these bits complaining that they are cheap Chinese junk. Well for crying out loud, it is a 21 bit set and only costs $23! What do these folks expect for $23?I I do not use these bits on ferrous metals. You can use them on metal, but they will soon need sharpening. I use them primarily on aluminum, wood and plastics. If you want premium bits for drilling metal, try the American made Triumph cobalt steel 15 bit set that will set you back $160. Or, for wood try the Lee Valley Tools carbide tipped brad point 7 bit set that will set you back $135. Both of these bit sets are premium tools. Just remember the tool rule: You get what you pay for. Good tools pay for themselves. I can't understand reviewers that buy a $10 tool, then complain because it is of lower quality than a $50 version.
