Preface: I purchased the mattress case because I have a moderate allergy to dust mites. After reading reviews for multiple mattress cases and considering the positive and negative reviews written for the Sureguard Mattress Encasement, I felt the positives outweighed the negatives and decided to give it a go. Set-Up: Some of the reviews I’ve read on here mentioned something about a weird chemical odor when they received their case. I did not encounter this smell, as the case seemed fine when I received it. Because of concerns with washing the case, I contacted the seller, Rykies, to make sure I didn’t mess up the case from washing/drying it. DO NOT turn the case inside out, as that is what will create issues with the effectiveness of the encasement. I will say, though, that the case has a tendency to naturally turn itself inside out while it is tumbling in the dryer, so be mindful to check on it. I would suggest throwing a clean, dry towel in with it also to cut down on the drying time, as this case takes FOREVER to dry. Once it’s dry, I put the case on my queen-sized mattress by myself. For a 6’0 man, I found it to be a little tricky but ultimately doable, so if you are of shorter stature you should consider getting some help with pulling the mattress case over the mattress. Zipping the case up was somewhat difficult, but part of that may be because of some of the reviews about the zipper being “flimsy”. As long as you take your time and you pull the top and bottom portions of the mattress encasement closer to each other, I don’t think there’s any trouble with putting in on the mattress. Conclusion: (I will update after a couple of weeks of use with the effectiveness of the mattress and any positives/negatives that arise. For now, I see no reason not to give it 5 stars). Note: This is an honest, tell-it-like-I-see-it kind of review. I was not given the mattress in exchange for giving the product a 5 star review.
