I read many reviews before purchasing this particular bolster and wonder that it is the same product reviewed by other posters. The bolster arrived compressed into a round zippered bag, inside a thick plastic sleeve. No instructions were included with the product, either in the box or zippered bag. I removed it from the plastic sleeve by slowly pushing through from one end out the other. The bolster immediately popped open to full size. There was only a slight arch from being rolled up. There was NO odor. It smelled only vaguely of plastic from the packing sleeve. The foam was immediately firm but pliable. The cover fits securely around the bolster and is easy to remove. The bolster foam itself is covered with a soft tricot cover that is sewn closed so that the core and cover foam are NOT exposed like some other review pictures showed. In an hour's time the bolster was completely expanded. One reviewer mentioned that the bolster was too low for her tall frame. I suggest inserting the bolster into a pillow case along side a pillow. This can add another 2-4 inches of height, depending on how fluffy the pillow itself is. Doing so adds a very comfortable rise and slope under the knees for lower lumbar relief. Definitely recommend this particular (5 Stars United) half roll bolster. Thank you
