I want to start off my review by saying that I have only had it for two weeks, so it keep that in mind, but so far I LOVE this bread machine. I feel like I am dramatic by saying it changed my life, but it truly has. I do not buy bread anymore. Making bread is so ridiculously easy and inexpensive that I am don't feel the need to purchase anything from the store. I have made five different types of bread so far, and outside of user error, this machine has performed perfectly. My mom had a bread maker about 15 years ago, and the main thing that I remembered about it is that it was really loud. This bread machine is not loud while it is kneading the dough at all. It sounds a bit like a dishwasher or a washing machine when you are two or three rooms away. That being said, I find all the squawks it makes when it changes cycle annoying. I know why it does it, in case you want to get the loaf out and shape it yourself, but I wish I could turn it off. (Maybe I can, but if that is true, I have not figured out how to yet.) So far I have only made bread in this machine, but I have the ingredients to make some jam, and I am excited. I do not know if bread machines have changed a lot from 15 years ago, but I know that my mom stopped using hers because she said that it was too time-consuming. This is most certainly not the case with this machine. At least not with the bread that I have made thus far: Vienna, Potato, Rosemary, Garlic, and Tomato. This bread machine the best Christmas present I have received in a long time. The long and the short of it is that if you have been thinking about getting a bread machine and don't want to spend a ton of money, then this is the machine for you. Oh, and I also have to recommend this book, Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook: A Master Baker's 300 Favorite Recipes for Perfect-Every-Time Bread-From Every Kind of Machine, which has yet to have a less than perfect recipe in it.
