Overall Very Good Heater
I have been using the HCE322V for a week in a 12x12 feet computer room at LOW setting only. Honeywell replied to my question that at LOW speed, it consumes 900W which is NOT stated in its website nor in the manual. I had to e-mail them to get this information because that is the setting I would use to conserve energy. The HIGH setting uses 1500W and Honeywell has used it as a selling point in my opinion. Some household may not be able to use HIGH if you've a lot of things plugged in to the same outlet or the wiring in the house is old, the circuit breaker may jump. At the same time I also bought the smaller cousin HCE311V. They do look identical except the smaller model uses 750W for LOW from what I understand. At the LOW setting both units are pretty quiet and there is no need to turn up the TV volume in the room. Between these two almost identical heaters, I prefer the HCE322V at about 9 inches taller and slightly more powerful at LOW. It is also easier to push the buttons because it is 9 inches taller. The regular price difference between the 311V and the 322V is about $10.00-15.00 in our area. The timer is a fantastic feature for me and I have used the 1-hour timer many times and found it accurate. However I have not tried the thermostat feature because it is functional only on HIGH which I have no need to use because I want to save on electricity. Honeywell provides a 3-year limited warranty which sounds nice. But if you read the manual you will notice that you have to send the unit in at your own expense if it malfunctions WITH a $10.00 check for " .....handling, return packing and shipping charges". If this unit breaks down after say, 2 years, I will put it in a recycling bin instead of sending it in. I will definitely recommend this model.
