I saw there were a number of negative reviews for these cups, but was convinced before ordering, people just weren’t attaching it correctly. I’d already watched a YouTube video on how to line up the arrows so the machine would detect the cups and jars. So I was greatly disappointed when I received the cups and jars when none of the four would work, no matter how perfectly those arrows lined up. But before returning them, I gave Vitamix Customer Service a call. They’re awesome to work with. They explained, the trick, is to place the blade assembly to the cup or jar, and tighten. Forget about lining up the arrows that are too hard to see anyway. She said they don’t matter. Then place it on the base, hold the blade assembly with one hand and give the jar one more little twist . . .it’s instantly recognized. Now I can use both jars and both cups, and all four work 100% of the time. I do think the literature that ships with these, as well as yputube videos, need to be corrected. There was a recall in spring of 2018 and I suspect an engineering change occurred. But follow those instructions and your jars and cups will work exactly as they’re supposed to.
