I have a 14lb Maine Coon cat that is a, shall we say, prolific user of the box. I had to scoop daily, if not twice daily, because of the smell. I wanted something covered that she could still move around in...by that didn’t take up too much of my small apartment. I took the door off at first, to let her adjust, and the smell was fine with scooping every few days instead, but even when I put the door back on she has had no problems getting in and out. I’m glad I got the larger size, despite the small space I have. She still manages to track litter everywhere (because foot feathers), even though she scrapes her feet, but the smell is hugely improved.
