I use this product and it works. Just bought two more bottles to get rid of a 24" diameter Norway maple stump. Tree was cut down 2015 summer, killed with stump killer and left to dry out for the past year. I read reviews here where people completely missed how to use the product and then show picutres of nothing happening. Dissolving the granules down the vertical holes with hot water is critical to push the chemical reaction that is necessary for the wood to rot. Also not drilling holes into the stump does not get the product/reaction into the stump for rotting processes. I use a 3/4" x 12" drill bit and on a stump that is 24" diameter I drill maybe forty holes. Then down the side of the stump about 4-6" I drill 3 holes at a slant to connect a couple vertical holes to act as "breather holes" at the inner center of the stump. Pour hot water slowly and carefully down the vertical holes and repeat product/hot water 2-3 times depending on the wood - my trees were maple and quite hard wood. I also use the hose to expose the roots from about 3ft out and drill holes at a slant down the roots which accelerates their rotting within a week or so. Follow the directions and repeat, this product works. Merely throwing it at the stump does nothing but a mess. Also I always allow stumps to age for a year after killing which dries the wood out and makes the process move faster. I've just bought two more bottles for a 24" stump. I plan to sod the area next spring and want the stump gone. By spring after chopping on the stump a few times yet this fall, the landscaper will be able to fill the stump hole and level the soil to lay sod. I'm a girl so I don't try to chop out the rotted stumps in one session but rather several times over the course of a month or so after stump has rotted. If the stump is stubborn I continue to apply granules as I remove portions of the stump core. This product works but it's not a miracle worker. This does not work on a live stump and merely placed product on surface only produces a few cracks
