It's easy to imagine why a lot of people gave this film a one-star review. Perhaps it made them uncomfortable, and perhaps they reacted as people tend to do with uncomfortable things. I'll admit that it maybe made me a little uncomfortable as well. But it it also made me angry, and it also brought me to tears. Few films these days manage to elicit any feeling other than perhaps a mild headache. This is not a popcorn movie to watch with your buddies. Maybe it's better watched alone. But it is a fantastic and moving film that is worth not only watching, but absorbing completely and contemplating afterwords. This is the kind of film that reminds me that film-making is actually an art form and not just a soulless business. And in every aspect this film is brilliant art.
