I had read on other reviews that (A) the Brightness wasn't as advertised. So that was the first thing I checked. It does, in fact, range from very bright to completely dark ... full range. And (B) there was no display. The "fix" was given to "Try turning up the brightness." Now, I don't know if it's always been there, but there was a plastic removable message covering the display to "Check to make sure the brightness control was all the way up before turning on." There is no way anyone could miss this notice. I also really like the clock display being white over black. I find it much easier to read than Red or Blue with no eye strain. The brightness can be turned way down and the display is still very easy to read. This appears to be very well constructed. If I find any issues with the clock, I'll add them here, but for now, it's the BEST small clock I've ever had. I plan to buy some more in the future!! One other thing, a few days after I received this clock, I received a very nice note from the manufacturer asking my opinions and giving details of how to handle any problems I might have. That impressed me. I highly recommend this clock and the company!
