A great buy at $33, there are some issues, but it is comfortable.
So to start this review off, This duvet is definitely not remotely as puffy/fluffy as the photos show. The list photo for sure has more filling or it is being inflated by an air pump. That was a main concern for me before I bought this item. Now there was a lot of positive review for this duvet (61% - 5 stars) when I was considering buying it, so I figured I would give it a shot; especially since it was on sale for $33 with free shipping at the time.
So here are some photos of once I received my duvet, 2 days late on Christmas Eve.
So the packaging was pretty large, the Duvet comes vacuum sealed in this individual double bagged....bag. The colors are actually really nice, the Eclipse Blue is a really deep blue and the Silver is actually Silver and not a flat Gray like I was expecting. The Duvet is pretty big, just doing an eye ball measurement, it seems to be the correct size of 104"x88". It drapes over my Queen sized modified Ikea platform really well. The Duvet is really airy and light. it is 100% Polyester, so it is going to have a camping bag feel to it. It is comfortable to be under, however, I have not slept in it yet.
Now to some issues I have seen right out of the bag. The Duvet squares were stitched from the Silver side down. You can tell this because on the Blue side you can see small individual silver thread coming through. In-fact the stitching is really poor as you can see in the last three photos. There was a few stray threads that was just clinging to the blanket and the end stitches were not even complete or are coming undone already. I have no idea from what part of the blanket those strays have fallen off from and that makes me a bit concerned in the long run. Overall this is a pretty decent Duvet, it is not as thick and fluffy as I was hoping for. With wishful thinking, maybe after a few days it will puff up more after the compression from the vacuum sealing wears off. If that does not happen, I plan to take it to my local tailor and see about possibly adding a bit more filling into it when I get the stitching fixed in certain spots.I believe he charges 20 dollars for Duvet repairs so, that would end up making this a 53 dollar purchase, Which might end up making buying a high end Duvet a better Idea and save yourself some trouble, But most Duvets only come in white and i really liked the colors on this particular Duvet.
I will update after a few weeks of use.
