So I didn’t realize that parasite cleansing was a thing. Our dogs contracted hookworms and I got a little freaked out since they sleep in our bed, lick our faces, and I just don’t think to wipe their paws after they come in. Their diagnosis prompted me to explore natural remedies. I was a little nervous to begin this because I wasn’t sure how my body was going to react or what “die off” symptoms I was going to experience. I’m a slim build and after all of the research I did on cleansing, I was convinced I was riddled with parasites. This is a much more intense cleanse (think of a bug fogger for your body) than say, just a clean diet with some diatomaceous earth. That being said, while I did experience some symptoms it was nothing that would impede me from going to work or functioning. I heard you can take l-ornithine to help with symptoms. Here’s my overall experience: Day 1 - definitely had the garlic burps for several hours even though I took it with food. When I opened the bottle I smelled cloves, but I only tasted garlic. Had some stomach tightness. Almost as if I did a ton of crunches. Went to bed. Had a little bit of pain in my jaw and legs. Days 2-3 - These were the days when I experienced the most symptoms. Slight headache. Lower back pain, lots of pain in my jaw. Lungs felt tight like when the weather changes and I experience shortness of breath (slight wheeziness continued until the end) It’s a weird sensation — the pain is sort of sharp, almost like a pinching. Something was definitely going on and I was not imagining it. When I took the pills, I ate my entire meal and took the pills with at least 6oz of water. This seemed to alleviate the burps altogether. The remainder of the days were pretty much the same. A little bit of fatigue, some more pains. I didn’t experience any emotional die off, but there were some instances of anxiety when I was trying to sleep. I am not one of those people that was interested in what I was passing (I just wanted it out of me) so I can’t for sure tell you if I passed any worms (my guess is yes), but I for sure passed a TON of eggs (of course I googled it and it looked like Giardia eggs, plus the “sesame seeds”). I thought I was going to freak out about seeing things in my stool, but I didn’t. It’s oddly satisfying. I additionally took bromelain and Dr. Christopher’s Lower Bowel (cleanse made me even more constipated than I typically am) with my meals and took probiotics before bed (to reintroduce good bacteria while my cells were regenerating overnight). I’m anxious to see how this affects my menstrual cycle. I was previously diagnosed with PCOS after struggling to conceive. However, after I had an HSG done, I got pregnant. During the HSG procedure, they inject your uterus and tubes with iodine to check for blockages. Turns out iodine kills parasites. I am priming my body to try conceiving again in a few months, and I plan to update this review with hopefully positive results with my prior infertility. It will be interesting to see if my problems stemmed from parasites! Women, just be prepared that you may pass parasites your next cycle. During my wait to begin my second cycle of cleansing, I plan on doing a liver cleanse and most likely a kidney cleanse. In regards to how I’m feeling, I’m experiencing less joint pain in the morning and I don’t feel quite as groggy. My skin (suffer from cystic acne on my face and back) seems to have calmed and doesn’t look nearly as inflamed. I’m still passing evidence even after completing the cleanse 3 days ago. After my next cycle, I plan on introducing a maintenance dose once a week before I get serious about conceiving (at which point I will focus strictly on diet, diatomaceous earth, and probiotics to hopefully keep my “infestation” minimal). I will definitely be cleansing once a year with a maintenance dose weekly from now on! I will update this review with any further info. I was pleased with this brand, thought the product was appropriately priced, and the company has great customer service (received my coupon for a free bottle within 24 hours of submitting my request). My recommendation to others looking to start a cleanse would be to do your research (found lots of anecdotal experience on cure zone) and check with your dr. or homeopath. Good luck! UPDATE: I just finished my second cleanse and had a different experience. I really only had “die off” symptoms for two days (a dull headache and some jaw pain). I didn’t notice that I was passing as much (btw, after the first cleanse I continued passing stuff for two weeks!), which is good news. I had a little more mucus this time around too. Then, on day 9 of the cleanse, I passed Candida. It’s unmistakable (looks like a small puffball) and from my research it’s difficult to rid your body of it. I may do one more cleanse to be sure I’ve bombed my body of most of it. In the meantime, I decided against the liver cleanse and decided to go with milk thistle instead. I’ve also introduced diatomaceous earth as a gentle maintainence system as opposed to shocking my body once a week (plus, it’s safe in teeny doses for my dogs and my 18 mo). Since starting my first cleanse, I have felt so much better mentally and physically. So so psyched to have found this. It was absolutely worth all the die off symptoms and discomfort for where I’m at with my health now.
