My review covers not only the stainless steel litter box, but also my experience with the owner of the company and his commitment to customer satisfaction. It's a bit lengthy, but I feel it is important to share both reviews together. PRODUCT REVIEW: I have a feral cat that adopted me several years go, and I have spent the last several years trying to give her a better life as she gets older. Naturally, she will always retain her survivor instincts and be suspicious of new things, but her soul is sweet. Living in Florida, the mild weather allows her to enjoy being outdoors, so I never had to deal with keeping up with a litter box. Her age and frequent hurricanes, however, convinced me to transition her onto my protected back porch to give her safe shelter (she refuses to go indoors), which also required her use to a litter box. I was only able to achieve success with a large, shallow plastic box, and even with sifting it twice a day and using odor control litter, it was a constant battle to avoid unpleasant odors due to the heat and humidity. She would also refuse to use it after just a few days (who could blame her). This is like the ultimate proving ground for litter boxes. I was thrilled to see that a SS version actually existed, but I initially thought the price was more than I wanted to spend. I was used to buying inexpensive plastic ones, but when I started adding up the costs of replacements I was using in a year, plus the time spent cleaning and scrubbing them, it made sense to at least try it. I also wasn't comfortable continuing to add so many single-use plastic litter boxes into landfills every year. Unfortunately, both my initial and replacement order arrived with significant dents in them, but the concept and design of the box were well executed (seller review below). I also ordered the iPrimo XL Cat Litter Sifter to go with it, which arrived in perfect condition. So how has the product worked so far? It holds much more litter than my old ones did, which has eliminated things sticking to the bottom or sides. The higher sides also contain the litter much better, and I find that I spill more litter when cleaning it than she does. As I mentioned earlier, I am also using their scoop as well, and it picks up the very fine clumps that always drove me crazy. The scoop also fits the contours of the pan perfectly, which has made the litter much cleaner overall. On top of all that, it doesn't absorb any odor, and even with our ongoing 90+ degree weather, there is ZERO lingering smell after scooping out her waste-OMG! How does she like it? As I was setting it up, naturally she had to inspect it to see if it was going to meet her standards. She rubbed her chin on the corner a couple of times, climbed in the box, and no joke, christened it right in front of me! She may not have any modesty, but she had me at meow. SELLER REVIEW: I was really irritated that both boxes showed up dented, and for some reason, I believed that they were shipped directly from the manufacturer. I emailed pictures to the seller asking how both boxes could pass their quality control and shipping departments and arrive dented. The owner of the company responded less than 24 hours later and was extremely apologetic, and to my embarrassment, pointed out that they were both fulfilled and shipped by Amazon. He shared with me that they send a large quantity in perfect condition to Amazon, relying on them to pack and ship them on their behalf. Despite the fact he was not responsible for the issues with my orders, he went above and beyond to make it right, which was extremely gracious on his part. I also learned his company is a small American business, not some big conglomerate, so his gesture had a bigger impact. After getting my foot out of my mouth, I apologized profusely to the owner for my mistake. I hope others will keep my experience in mind if they have any issues or concerns with their order, regardless of the product, as it may be Amazon's fault, not the seller.
