I wrote this review to counter the reviews that this blanket is not itchy. For this, I realize it's different for everyone as some people do not have sensitive skin. I do have very sensitive skin, and this blanket definitely causes occasional itchiness as I've been wearing it around me for the past couple days. It is warm, but if you're sitting outside in 45F degree weather with a bit of wind, the chill will come through. I took this blanket with me on my weekend trip to Los Angeles and slept in my car. This blanket did the trick and kept me warm the whole time. This blanket reminds me very much of the blankets made by Pendleton, not style wise, because of the solid plain color, but the coarseness and thickness. This blanket should be durable through the years, a bit too uncomfortable for the bed. Straight out of the box, there was a bit of smell, a sort of "just manufactured" type smell. I put this on the bed and let it air out a bit before using it. It has been 2 days and I no longer detect any smell unless I put the blanket under my nose directly. I do not find it offensive. A good value for the money if I wind up using this blanket the way I intend it.
