The purse is great out of the box. I checked the seams as that was a problem for some and everything was fine looking. As for the smell people talk about it’s not a “chemical smell” it smells like cowhide to me. My mom has a bag made of cowhide and it smelled similar. It’s a bit strong yes so if you aren’t used to it I can see how people would remark at it. Just let it air out and it will be fine in a week if you are sensitive to smells. Unless I was just lucky and others got odd ones. The pouch in the middle is great although I’m not using it but I can in the future. It comes with a thin strap to use it as a crossbody if you want which I might use it for instead if ever. 3 outside pockets which are great and no pockets inside main compartment. Strap is thick and displaces weight well. So far so good and very happy with the color and texture/finish. Inside is soft. It’s a nice size to get everything in my purse but can see everything clearly. Being a mom that’s important for me.
